Dr. Susan Mastruserio graduated with her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Susan completed her APA-Accredited internship at the University of Pittsburgh, where she worked with survivors of sexual assault and trauma. Her dissertation focused on the psychological well-being of women struggling with infertility, a topic close to her heart. In addition, she spent time working with young adults and helped to develop and run an Intensive Outpatient Program for those struggling with severe depression, anxiety and suicidality. Her areas of clinical expertise include depression and anxiety, life transitions and stressors, sexual assault and trauma, young adults, and relationship distress.
Dr. Mastruserio is an integrative psychologist who believes that learning skills to manage life stressors, as well learning more about oneself and emotions can make for lasting change. She works with each client to develop a relationship based on mutual respect and trust to effectively assist them on their journey of personal growth. Specifically, Susan enjoys integrating the therapeutic modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT).
In her free time Dr. Mastruserio enjoys spending time with her family, reading and baking.
